This website has been tested using Windows XP, Service Pack 3, and the latest Internet browser versions of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Safari for Windows and Mac. Browsers are free so it is worth downloading the latest versions to avoid the security problems associated with using the Internet, if you allow automatic updates from Microsoft your copy of Windows Explorer should be the latest version, for other browsers there are some links below that may be of interest.
The test monitor has a resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels, wherever possible the pages have been kept within a size that will hopefully avoid unnecessary scrolling. If the default font size is not large enough the size can be increased by holding down the Ctrl key and rotating the thumbwheel on the mouse, this works on the test set-up but is not guaranteed to work on a visitors’ computer. In the abscence of any formal standard for HTML the W3C Markup Validation Service has been used to test the code. It has produced one or two false negatives but largely the code conforms to their standard.
Pop-ups have been avoided except for links to email addresses where a form has been used, the reason for this is to increase security and make sure spurious emails are not sent. Where a link is provided to another website, or a PDF document, the back arrow (top left-hand corner of the browser window) will have to be used to return to this website.
